Matthew (sic) was mentioned by Drury in Drury's introduction. Bell and Batty also describes it as MATTHEW. (Bell also makes the mistake of missing the penultimate word MODERATE which changes the meaning somewhat!). Batty doesn't mention ICP. However the two pieces in my collection are as described. The actual dies for these pieces might be the ones referred to in the NSI's Occasional Paper No. 37, p.55 Nos. 36 & 38.

The 1d sized piece (illustratedin Seaby AN:B30) does NOT have the inscription above. Nor does it have that listed in Batty 872. See miscellaneous file. The '1d' has OPEN'D and ALLWAYS.

Does this exist? Again Bell got this from Samuel. Was he right with the size? Bell says they issued ½d (c26mm?) piece as above (Batty 3479A). However Seaby also lists it but at 30.5mm AN:B45, which matches this description and also references Batty (but quotes 3469A sic). They did issue several other 1d sized & larger advertising tickets listed by Seaby - AN:B44, AN:B46, AN:B46v and AN:B47 listed under Miscellaneous Tokens.
