You had to return the crate and the token to get a refund.

D. Devine & Sons are still going strong! They are still in the market business - off the Donegall Rd in Belfast. The advert below shows they were also in Londonderry. However, there was a D. Devine & Sons (Dublin) Ltd., and this token is believed to have been used there.
